Bloomington-Normal DSA Condemns Failure to Bring Charges in the Murder of Breonna Taylor, Encourages Solidarity and Support at McLean Co. Museum of History Today at 5pm
BLOOMINGTON, IL – There is a grassroots call for the community to come together this evening after news of the system’s failure to bring charges in the police murder of Breonna Taylor. People will begin gathering at 5pm at McLean Co. History Museum in downtown Bloomington. This is not being organized by BloNo DSA, but we encourage our friends, neighbors, and comrades to answer this call for solidarity and support.
“Our sorrow is matched only by our rage. That the system continues to play host to violence and murder against Black people, and fails to uphold any sort of retribution for their killings, only reinforces what we’ve known about its intent and purpose. That this failure to press even one charge for the murder of Breonna Taylor occurs in the midst of months-long popular global uprising involving millions of people, makes obvious who this system serves.”
